Waiting for a ‘Merry Xmas’ post right?
Wrong.
I don’t celebrate Christmas. I’m Jewish-Christian so forgive me if I don’t understand your cheer.
When I tell people I don’t celebrate the ‘feast’ they all go “Aww. You’re missing o!”
Really.
Missing what? Chicken? Beef? Beer?
But i have those every other day.
What is Christmas? And no one please give me that tadodoole about it being a season of ‘Giving’ yada yada.
And no, it’s not the ‘birthday’ of Jesus either. Camon what are you? 12?
So let us be real. What exactly is Christmas and why do you celebrate it?
It’s not in the bible so no one give me a dose of Christian codswallop. What value does Christmas have? Why do most people die during this period if it’s really a religious do?
What does Christmas really mean to you beside the merriment? Is the merriment the only reason people celebrate it?
That ladies and gentlemen, is a question I’d love an answer to.
I’m not blasting anyone’s belief. I just seek insight because I read the same bible you read. Get me?
My phone is going haywire with Season’s greetings. Well I’d just have to ignore all that.
Although I cannot wish you a ‘Merry Christmas’, I do wish you all enjoy your holidays and stay alive! Anyway, I wasn’t going to do any special story but it seems co-writer Dionysus did so I’d be posting that later today.
Drink responsibly.
Jana.
well xmas to me is NOT Jesus birthday, but rather a day set aside in the year to remember the birth of Jesus and the ripple effect it had in our salvation. im not a fan of the whole celebration either but i dont mind the idea of christmas. i believe once in a while we should take some time out to remember christs birth and the significance of it. You should to darlin. And a merry xmas to you too. (although one IDIOT came and stole my shoes today and now i cant even go to church… if i catch the fool eh… )
I can’t say for everyone else but this is why I celebrate Christmas, Incarnation. As Christians we all aspire to rise above our frailty and this weakness we despise in our bodies and become ‘better’. Christ did the opposite, he left his infinitely more powerful role to live the lowliest of lives and the most humiliating of deaths. The act of his incarnation is well documented in the bible. It is tres merveilleux to me and Every Christmas day reminds me how much of a sacrifice it is. Jesus isn’t just a savior man being born, it is ultimate act of piety.
(Sorry for sounding a little preachy at the end bit) Jana! :* and Merry Incarnation.
Yes Ms phantom!.. Tell them.. Jesus is celebrated through your lifestyle not christmas, neither is it by going to church on sundays.. 99.9% of xmas celebrants r doing it for the booze n the free food.. Now a church has been bombed in Abuja because of christmas.. Sigh
This post is too awesome for words! Wow. Just wow! 🙂
Lol, see rant
I fail to see your point.
